Hey yall, it’s Sydney’s birthday (kind of… missed it by a few days but she was out of town) and she wants to play some coed doubles to celebrate!! We are going to run a fun and exciting format for her birthday!
What is KQ of the Court, you ask? It is a fun variation of doubles that you’ve all most likely seen on the FIVB circuit! Every team signs up as a coed doubles team and you play timed rounds against different teams in your pool. The goal is score as many points as possible on the K/Q side during the allotted time!
Players score (or lose) points if any of the following happens:
Pool play will consist of every team playing 2 timed rounds of with two different pools. After the two rounds of pool play, teams will be seeded in order of how they finished pool play and proceed into elimination rounds. The elimination rounds will be timed rounds and at the end of the round, the bottom team from each pool will be eliminated. Each round will have eliminations until we get to our final pool of the top 6 teams, which will be the championship round! We will crown our King and Queen when the first team reaches 21 points!!
This format is very strenuous with a lot of volleyball being played with many different partners. Let’s see who can reign supreme!
