DESCRIPTION:It’s Star Wars Day and we are going to host a REC/C level event! This will be a “Bring Your Own Team” Royal Rumble tournament! Who has the force with them?  \nIf you play in the Tuesday Wednesday or Thursday league\, this is your chance to battle it out with some teams from other nights of the week to see which league night comes out on top! \nEach team can have 4-6 players. If your team has 5+ players\, you must have 2 female minimum. Otherwise with a team of 4 you just need 1 female. Rules for the tournament are the same as the Wednesday/Thursday league rules\, which I will go over at the tournament! \nCheck in is 10AM\, with the tournament beginning at 1030AM! Each team will get 3 pool play games to 21 followed by a double elimination bracket\, so each team is guaranteed 5 games. \nThe cost is $35 per player\, and the winning team will get a free league entry (if you’re a league team) or a custom hoodie and TShirt combo. Second place will win custom Phoenix Beach Tshirts. \nTeam fee is payable via Venmo @phoenixbeachvb

DESCRIPTION:Did I say “ACE”? Yes I did! This will be the 4th annual Black Friday ACE Tournament! It will be THE PLACE TO BE! Start putting your best 6’s team together for this epic battle! 2 female minimum per team. \nCheck in at 11:30\, play begins at 12 noon! Each team will play 3-4 pool play games to 25 followed by a single elimination bracket. All games are win by 2\, capped at 27. \nIf you sign up on the website \, put in parentheses if you’re signing up a full team\, partial team or individual! \n$180 per team of 6\, and the entry fee includes 4 buckets (6 per bucket\, 2 of each flavor) of Svedka Vodka tropic beverages*! \nSign up by commenting in this event! Can sign up as a full team\, partial team or as a free agent! \nPrizes for first place will be a specialized Black Friday ACE Champion hoodie and a TBD prize. \nWhat’s “ACE”? It’s a volleyball game with a little twist. An ACE is when a team scores a point on their opponent without any one person on that team getting a touch on the ball. Typically when an ACE is scored\, the team must exit the court and drink. But\, this is a hybrid ACE event. All the fun\, little less on the requirements. If you haven’t played before\, pay attention. \nRules are as follows\, Very minimal rules at that: \n1. Drinking is only a suggestion. We are not promoting any excess drinking. Be responsible. \n2. When an ACE is scored\, we will NOT be chasing the ball (if the serving team recovers the ball on an ACE\, they can serve as soon as someone steps on the court\, normal rules). Instead\, we will be playing Rock/Paper/Scissors. The team that scored the ACE has to win twice to get the ball. The team that got ACE’d has to win once to keep the ball. \n3. When ACE’d\, one player from each team will play 1 round of Rock Paper Scissors to see who gets possession of the ball. If you lose the Rock Paper Scissors battle\, all players must exit the court. Those who choose to partake in the drinking festivities will then do so. EACH PLAYER WILL HAVE THEIR OWN DRINK. NO SHARING (Unless you’re ok with sharing\, then carry on). If at any point the serving team has the ball\, and the team that is off the court has a player step on the court\, the serving team can serve immediately. So don’t step on the court until everyone that is choosing to drink has finished and the entire team is ready to play. \n4. Teams must rotate. Back row players can attack the ball from anywhere on the court. There is no “back row” attacking rule. \n5. For safety\, aggressive net violations will be called. Be careful. We don’t want anyone to get hurt. Minor net contact is fine\, but don’t get your whole arm caught in the net. \n6. Blocking serves is LEGAL. Lifts are LEGAL. Doubles are LEGAL. Diving lift/throws are LEGAL (to keep the play alive). \n7. Have fun and be safe. The main goal is to get everyone together and have a great time playing volleyball! \n*buckets will be a set list to choose from*
